Individual Story
My project will concern changes about the four seasons in Seattle or in Washington State.
Because the weather is like an eternal spring in Taiwan, I can’t surely discern what the differences between the four seasons. When I came to United State, especially studying in Seattle, I’m so impressed by the climate changes during all the year round. There are absolutely spring, summer, fall and winter. Hence, I really enjoy in the cherry of spring, the beach of summer, the wind of autumn, and the snow of winter.
What’s more, because of the climate change, people would change their clothing, and even their emotion. In my story, I will also tell something about changing clothing by putting some photos or producing a video if I could do well. Moreover, I will choose some songs that won’t annoy audiences as my background music to lead audiences enter the four seasons in Seattle. In this story, I will interview some people and hope them share their feelings in the different season.
I believe that the website will be the best choice to completely tell my story to the public. Some articles, some videos, and a lot of pictures will help audiences easily understand and know the true feelings about all changes during all the year round.

So your topic is the change of season? I think that the fields of the season changing are too many. You may pick some specific topic of the changing, such as the weather or the scenery. For me, when I heard the change of season, I will think of the plants first. I think the change of people’s cloth is a good idea. Maybe you can make it be a season fashion show. I think all the choices could have many interesting storyies, and I look forward your work.

I’m sure you’ve heard of this already, but you could investigate the theory of Seasonal Affective Disorder – which I’m not sure is true but fits right in with what you’re thinking of. The concept of changing seasons is very visual but also very broad. I think if you focused on a particular place, person, theme and related it to the backdrop of changing seasons all year around, you’d have a great contrast. Maybe even how life on campus changes throughout the quarter – what activities are available and how does that impact student life?

Seattle normally has mild four seasons, the largest being clouds and rain! This year we had more extrememe weather. If you want to go a more science route you could write about climate change (global warming) in Seattle comparing temperatures over a period of years. For the people/emotion aspect; Luke’s comment about SAD would be great as many say rain makes them depressed (suicide rate?). Another aspec could be dressing for the weather (a fashion show?).

I like this because weather is both inherently visual and something we can all relate to. Seems like there are a number of different ways you can go with it. Seattle has suffered great impact from extreme weather this year–there may be a good story to tell about that.
